Dog Fence Cable Specification
Cable quality is crucial to the longevity and success of any electronic dog fence system – if the cable is too thin then it is easily damaged but also it will not conduct the signal correctly. DogFence use only high quality cable with a min of 7 strands in order to achieve good signal. The cable jacket is also crucial as hidden dog fences are used externally. The boundary cable is exposed to the elements; water, heat and sun etc and so requires a good quality jacket to give added protection.
It is also important to note that when joining the cable you should NOT use tape or electricians joins. These repairs will cause water to enter the dog fence cable and over time this will lead to poor conduction of the radio signal.
